Homemade Chocolate Granola

Hey there, fellow breakfast lovers! Are you tired of the same old store-bought granola that's often too sweet and lacking in the protein department?

Well, we've got just the recipe for you! Make your own Homemade Chocolate Granola that's not only delicious but also packed with protein and customizable to your taste buds. It's our household staple, and well-loved by both adults and kids!

Why We Love This Recipe?

  1. It’s Easy to Make: No fancy equipment or skills required—just you and your favorite ingredients. It's really hard to go wrong.

  2. It’s Protein and Fiber-Rich: Packed with oats, nuts and seeds, this recipe will keep you full longer and give you sustained energy throughout the day.

  3. It’s Crunchy, Nutty, and Chocolatey: Imagine clusters of crunchy oats, roasted nuts, and rich dark chocolate coming together in every bite—perfect for those who love a satisfying crunch with a hint of indulgence.

  4. It’s Not Too Sweet: We've experimented multiple times to achieve the right (minimum) amount of sweetness without feeling like dessert invaded your breakfast.

  5. You Can Customize It: Want extra chocolate? Add more cocoa powder or dark chocolate callets! Prefer pecans over almonds? Swap them in! Homemade granola is endlessly customizable to suit your taste buds and dietary needs.

Ingredients:

  • 50 rolled oats
  • 50g slivered almonds
  • 50g cashew nuts
  • 50g other nuts of choice (we used a mixture of macademia, pistachio and hazelnuts)
  • 1tsp chia seeds
  • 20g brown sugar
  • 10g cocoa powder
  • ⅛tsp salt
  • 25g coconut oil
  • 20g honey
  • 30g dried cranberries
  • 40g dark chocolate pallets

Instructions:

  1. Preheat & Prep: Preheat your oven to 150°C. Line a sheet pan with Paco Silicone Baking Mat.

  2. Mix It Up: Chop nuts up into smaller pieces. In a large bowl, combine dry ingredients - oats, chopped nuts, chia seeds, brown sugar, cocoa powder and salt. Then, add coconut oil and honey. Mix until everything is well coated.

  3. Bake to Perfection: Spread the mixture on the prepared sheet pan and bake for about 50 - 55 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes to prevent burning. 10 minutes before granola is done, remove sheet pan from oven and mix in dried cranberries.

  4. Add the Chocolate Magic: Remove from the oven and sprinkle dark chocolate pallets on top. Let the residual heat from the granola melt the pallets, and mix until everything is well coated.

  5. Cool & Enjoy: Let the granola cool completely. Store in an airtight container for up to two weeks.
